...and just to convince you that Saint Aignan is well worth the trip for a longer visit and/or outside the Festival period... Saint Aignan is a medieval town with a very well preserved city centre, lots of old stone buildings, cobbled streets, a massive castle and several lovely churches. The area is also renowned for its wines and several local producers as well as a number of very pleasant wine bars. Within a 30 miles radius are many of the most significant castles in French history (Blois, Chambord, Chenonceaux, Amboise, etc.) You can find more about tourism in the area on www.loiredeschateaux.com. The site is also in English.
